"One of the most common questions I get goes something like this" 'Adya, I've had some sort of spiritual awakening thing happen, at least I think I have, and even though it has happened, I don't feel like it is totally complete. I don't really feel like I'm totally free. I may actually have awakened to what I am and who I am, and that's been very beautiful and profound but, Adya, something hasn't totally completed itself.'
What follows is, 'What do I do?' I have yet to see a single case of someone who is in that predicament who isn't dealing primarily with the issue of control. Not one, because everyone is dealing with the condition of control unless they are totally liberated from the desire for control. In a very simplistic way, the difference between those people who have had a deep and profound spiritual awakenings to their true nature and those who are actually liberated and free is this very simple matter: those who are liberated and free have totally and absolutely let go of control. This is true because, if you let go of control, then you cannot help but be liberated and free.
It's like jumping off a building. You can't help but go down: gravity pulls you that way. If you totally let go of control, you end up in complete self-realization."
