"The Art of Deep Listening

•It is important to recognize where we are coming from when we communicate. Can we offer attention and deep listening?
•The ego wants to win and compete. It isn’t listening to the other person. It is waiting for the other person to stop talking so that it can speak.
•The challenge of deep connection is not solved by correct techniques (although that can be beautiful work), but about the real truth and Love in connection.
•When you give compassion, your deep sense of listening, you also receive a beautiful sense of being.
•The ego view is “I want you to agree with me.” The enlightened view is “I want to understand you.” It’s an offering of attention, and of deep and profound listening.
•Part of the beauty of engagement is to learn about the world through another’s eyes. We can’t do this if we are defensive."
