Mystery Visit

When I was 6 years old my parents often took me to the Gospel Hall where I heard that I needed to be saved. After one frightening meeting I curled up in the back window of Daddy's VW bug. It felt like an angel came down and touched the top of my head. I started repeating I Am that I Am, that I Am, that I Am... The response God used in the Bible when Moses asked for his name (Exodus 3:14). I was no longer myself and God was no longer anything I imagined. It was (is) the great mystery. When I tried to tell my father, the mystery faded. I later got 'saved' and that touch was almost forgotten. Over 50 years later, I still return to 'I Am that I Am'.
