"You have to really look for them, but I remember being so grateful to find people who left little bread crumbs along the way. You look through hundreds of years of spiritual literature and find that they are there, and when you bump into them, you just have this profound feeling of gratitude. Somebody took the time to leave these little bread crumbs. So when you’re in this spot that has no reference in your life, and nobody around you understands it, remember there’s somebody that existed 600 years ago who left a bread crumb just to say, 'Hey, there are companions.' There are companions here. That’s one of the greatest parts about a spiritual Sangha – there are companions."
